Update on my idea from yesterday. To reduce the messages that RCS has to send, what if it checks to see if the referer has tcp.im set up and send THEM the message "This person went here from you, you can deal with contacting the referee". That way you only send messages about semi-important referers, and you also get the information about where someone went to the referers Radio without the refereee having to IM them.

Dream Tools. This is a collection of thoughts I have had on compilers, re-engineering and debugging tools for software engineering. None of these ideas are meant to be plausible. One could say this is a foray into the realm of science fiction, although certainly not "popular" science fiction. I think there is some insight here as to the state of the art in computer science and software development. If we had these tools, just think of how productive we all could be. [kuro5hin.org]

Fun stuff and more good discussion on kuro5hin.

Paolo finds a use for the Apple Xserve and questions wether customers would accept it over IBM servers. Just wait till they come out with Strawberry and Lime flavors then the customers will be all over it.

"I bought the license. is so Cool. I just bought my license - after only 3 days using it. That must be a record. Thanks to Dave Winer for turning me on to it. Now, how do I stop this burning desire to buy Frontier?" [Keith Teare's Weblog]

Just deposited my tax return check and after 4 days I'm ready to buy my license. I think what I can't do with Radio at this point I'll accomplish with some server side PHP. So i'm not itching to buy Frontier, yet...

And PS Keith: You've got some unruley <FONT> tags going there.

"Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science" is #1 on Amazon.   Very impressive.  Given that most of his work was done with Mathematica, I suspect that sales of that tool will go up sharply too.  There is a good article in Wired on the book." [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

There is also a good discussion on Kuro5hin.
