Witchcraft. Seven or eight years ago, I spent 5 months in a small village in Equatorial Guinea with some biologists (who worked in some camp that prepared captured monkeys to be returned to the forest). I have always been interested in witchcraft and the occult, and this rural area I lived in was teeming with "rainmakers" and witch doctors. I interviewed a number of them, and frankly, they were all obvious phonies. Apart from one old and ugly man...
