Heinlein Award Created The Heinlein Society has created the occassional Heinlein Award, given for hard sf that inspires the human exploration of space. Judges are Greg Bear, Joe Haldeman, Yoji Kondo, Elizabeth Moon, Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, Spider Robinson, Stanley Schmidt and Charles Sheffield, plus U.S. Naval Academy English professors Herb Gilliland and John Hill. Trackers and Linux "I am the author of a few apps intented for Linux music composing. My speciality is trackers since that is what i've been using for around a decade and my goal is to be able of writing music professionaly on this OS using such programs. Trackers are tools for writing computer music which have a different approach from sequencers (such as Twelve Tone's Cakewalk or Steinberg's Cubase). They are unknown to most people, or just known as an "old Amiga music File Format". In this article I'd like to introduce the history and concept of tracking, as well as giving an overview of all the tools of this kind available in the Open Source world."
