RIAA DIE DIE DIE
Evil evil people (the RIAA) have reached an out of court settlement with Audiogalaxy.

The gist of it is: AG is gonna pay the RIAA lots of money and people can now only share songs allowed by the RIAA.

Just Your Favorite DJ Savior
The DJ Shadow sample page is back online! I'd link to it, but as the current maintainer says:
Welcome to the return of the DJ Shadow Samples page. This page was originally created by Michael "DOP" Lane, whose time and efforts to keep up these pages were helpful in spreading the word about DJ Shadow and his music. Some of you might remember DOP from his great show on WREK in Atlanta, The Breaks.

The DJ Shadow Samples page had moved a number of times over the years, and eventually with Mike devoting more time to his job (and having a life!), he took down the site. I felt it was essential not only for DJ Shadow fans, but for record collectors and producers who want to explore his music a bit further. I am sure the "sample police" have visited this site, and because of this fact, I want to respect DOP's wishes by asking you to NOT place an external link to this page. This sample page has never been a secret to Shadow fans, but due to the unpredictability of the recording industry, I want to keep this going without threat from the powers that be. To make it interesting, I will change the URL of these pages every week or so, for those of you who refuse to play by the rules. Eternal to gratitude to Michael Lane for creating these pages, I will maintain them in the same fashion that you did. Thank you for passing these pages to me.

If you are a DJ Shadow fan and want the url, email me or send me a message on AIM (acemcburney) and I'll give you the url.

Acoustics Crash Course 1 - Room Modes
"With the proliferation of home recording studios, many more people have questions about room acoustics than before. This article first in a series meant to be a starting point in your understanding of acoustics in rectangular rooms." [kuro5hin.org]

There are a lot of other interesting music related articles on kuro5hin.
