Political Reform

True reform must always begin with confession, not criticism. Criticism is easy - it says the other guy is bad. Confession is not easy, and thus much more powerful. It says: I was wrong and now I want to be better.

When we focus on correcting ourselves, and on what we might need as support in that activity, we do the most that can be done. The other guy - he has to correct himself, and we having begun such a task, provide the best encouragement - our own confession, remorse and desire to do better. Even more important are the following deeds - what we do that is better.

The world more needs good examples, than it does reasonable critics. Where's the politician willing to confess his or her own misdeeds?
